Rooms
The least expensive rooms are at Americas Best Value - in Cambridge, MD.
They are rated a 2.6 out of a 5 guest rating on hotels.com. We called - and then looked on the Net - and it is cheaper to book there over the Internet.
The rates on the Net are $54.95 for a single queen, and $59.95 for a double queen - and AAA also gets you an additional discount off of that.
The rates they quoted over the phone were about $15 higher, and there is no group rate available - so book this one on the Internet if you choose it.

The next would be Days Inn in Cambridge, MD.
It is rated a 4.0 out of a 5 guest rating on hotels.com. We did secure a group room rate of $75.00 a night... versus their normal room rate of $89.00 a night.
The room comes with double queen beds - and the HeliFun discounted rate of $75.00 is good for Friday and/ or Saturday night, the 16th & 17th.
Should you call - reference "HeliFun" to get the group rate. Their phone number is: 410-228-4444
The group rate fine print says that the room reservation needs to be made by the 1st of May to get the reduced rate. They will not bill the card until you get there to check-in... and you have up to 72 hours before the check-in to cancel... but book the reservation by the 1st to get the group rate.
I called Sam (the Manager) to see if he could help us change this May 1st date, but he said that he couldn't "move that mountain".
Sam said - "If you are not sure you need a room but you think you might... reserve a room before the 1st of May to get the better rate... and then just cancel it if you decide not to use it"
Sam also said that he can reserve us as many rooms as we need... so "reserve away"

RV Parking
No Problem with RV parking - but we don't have hookups available.
We are going to park the RVs parallel to the tree line - right behind the pits. It is a perfect spot for you guys bringing your RVs... you will be real close to the action.
Look at this Google Map Satellite View of the field:
See the tree line to the left of the arrow? (our new field was built after they shot this, so it is not in the photo)
The arrow is pointing right to where the field's new pavilion is - which you can see in the bottom right aerial photo on this web page in the club's website.
If you look at that bottom right aerial photo on the club's web page, you can just make out the tree line behind the pavilion... in the upper right of the photo, in front of the truck with the trailer. That is the tree line we will be parking you parallel and in line with.
If you get here Friday night, and no one from the club is there to help you... no problem... just park in a line... as close in along the tree line you feel comfortable with.
Camping
There is no problem if you would like to camp onsite! We will have 2 porta-pottis onsite... but no running water (next year we will... the well is drilled, but no pump yet).
Will also be lining up the tents along the tree line (like the RVs), as seen in the Google Map above. Your tents, and your stuff, will be close to you and the field. You do not have to worry about tearing down and setting up again, if you come down and set up both Friday and Saturday nights. We will also make sure your vehicle is parked with your tent and your stuff. If you want to also set up a canopy and/or compound area, etc. - Sounds like Fun... Go For It :-)
